Interview #2

Interview preparations and evaluation:

I met a Russian guy named Vladimir Foreman a few years ago near my home town, considering the history between the USA and Russia I wanted to know more about his country. I called him a few weeks ago and asked him if he could do a 30 minute interview and he gladly accepted. We met at a Caribou in St.Cloud on Sunday October 28th and the interview lasted about 35 minutes. My laptop worked really well as a recording device for my last interview so I used it again.
The interview went very well, even though we had a small window to conduct the interview I felt it went more smoothly than the last interview.
I was very surprised to hear his take on the direction of our government. He lived a communist society for a long time and said that America is becoming the same.

Country report:
Russia:
In the 9th century the Slavic people established a form of government, since then it has had change over in the government and the most recent one was soviet Russia. In 1991 the Soviet Union of Russia dissolved and has been in the process of switching to a more capitalistic society. After the 1940’s Russia gave control of some of the companies to private individuals who had their hand in the government still, they took as much money as possible and left the country, this sent many people in poverty, destroyed the economy, but these affects were not felt until the early 90’s.
Russia has been a super power for a very long time and one of the leaders in space exploration. The climate of Russia varies because it so large but it is very for north and is rather cold. The most predominant religion is the Russian Orthodox Church which is the state religion, there is also Islam, Buddhism, and Judaism.
